SEO- FAQ
Your Most Common Questions Answered
Can You Guarantee Me Results?
Absolutely, 100%, NOT! We will never guarantee results, whether that be a 1st position ranking, top 5, top 10, first 3 pages or any other type of performance guarantee. We do not control the search engines so we can not guarantee where your website/page will end up ranking. We can however guarantee to use our extensive knowledge and experience to give your website the best chance possible of finding its optimal position.
How Long Should I Have To Wait To See Changes Reflected In Results?
In terms of Google, since 2017 we are seeing an ever increasing delay between large website changes being reflected in consistent search position. Generally speaking it takes 2 Google core algorithm updates before new content stabilises, this is approximately 12 months. Thankfully we can ensure new content and old content changes are indexed within a day or 2, so will show in the search results, it’s just their position has the potential for huge swings. It is not unusual to see a newly optimised page jump around between the 1st page and page 5+. Google is altering the goal posts daily and new content is treated with some level of suspicion. You should expect to see any changes we do affect rankings in 1-2 weeks, but up to 12 months to have stable results.
We expect to see consistent Bing results in 1-2 weeks, sometimes a month depending on the market.
How Much Access Will You Need To Audit My Website?
Depending on some technical aspects of your website, which we can advise on, we will not need any direct access to your content source, content management system or other backend software you are using to run your website. We can audit it from what is already public facing and openly available. However in an ideal world we would have access to your existing analytics account and preferably Google Search Console. If you don’t have these in place it’s fairly certain you will benefit from our services!
The Person Who Built My Site Does SEO, Why Do I Need You?
It’s entirely possible you don’t. If your website is performing how you want then realistically speaking there is no need. This is all a conversation we can have before you spend a penny on our services. However we have been around the block enough times, have seen hundreds of designers “optimised” websites that generate little to no business and have grown enough businesses from terrible websites to see things for what they are. We’ve also seen the other side of the coin where a website is great and has so little extra potential it’s not viable.
How Is This Free Traffic If I Have To Pay For It?
When it comes to SEO services you are paying for the service, not the traffic that is generated as a result. The other form of search traffic is paid traffic where the most common approach is to pay an amount for every visitor that lands on your website, you pay for the advert listing click i.e. PPC. Using the services of a SEO specialist to optimise your website for organic search traffic does not work like that. As an example there have been several instances where our expertise is no longer required except a nominal fee for monitoring stats (every website has a finite limit of optimisation at any given point in time, we are totally honest with this). However the content we optimised and the lead funnel we created has continued to generate consistent traffic and leads several years later. No doubt there will be websites we have optimised that will continue to generate viable visitors and business leads long after we are gone!
My Small Business Does X, Can You Help?
We are not against working in any Isle of Man market or niche. What is more important is your current website’s state/position, its potential and your capacity and appetite for growth. We have helped plumbers, painters, engineers, mechanics, real estate agents, financial services companies, CSPs, mortgage brokers, advocates, therapists, whole sale suppliers and tech companies to name just a few.
